The Healthy Lifestyle Guide For Busy People

1.) Track how your time is spent
Sometimes we don't realize just how much time we "waste" throughout the day. Time is for many of us the biggest and most dear asset that we have. Break down your daily life into 30-60 minutes segments for one or two days.
This will help you to identify time sinks of perhaps urgent but low priority work that is either unnecessary or could be scheduled at another time.

2.) Go to bed earlier
It has been drilled in our heads for years that 7-8 hours of sleep every day will make you more productive and energetic throughout the day. Lack of sleep leads to increase in stress level hormone cortisol and a decrease in production of glycogen and carbohydrates that are stored for energy.

3.) Schedule your workouts-- Make a habit out of it
Schedule your workouts just as if they were meetings or doctor appointments. Force yourself to actually reserve the time for your activities. Eventually these regular activities will become powerful habits.

4.) Attend classes, get a workout friend
Keep yourself accountable by signing up for group fitness classes or bootcamp classes. Allow your workout time to become a social setting that you can feel motivated by others.

5.) Put money on the table
This too can help hold you accountable to staying fit by booking sessions with a personal trainer or purchasing a set of yoga classes. This tactic might not be for everyone. But for those of who value a workout more by committing money towards it this could help you make time for fitness.

6.) Make batches of healthy food
Cooking takes time, but you can save a lot of time by cooking large portions of food at one time and split up into several lunches.

7.) Take a walk
Convenience seems to control our lives, driving a car the smallest distance yet we don't always have to. Short distances for errands can commonly be done by biking or walking. You might even consider taking a walk during your lunch break or after work. It is a great way to get some fresh air, clear your head and listen to a good podcast or audiobook.
