Allergy Prep

05/02/2017 - Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America
It is Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month.
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) is a non-profit that provides information, community based services and support to develop health educational material and to organize state/mational advocacy efforts on allergic symptoms. Allergy PREP (Prepare, REview, Plan) encourages people with seasonal allergies to plan ahead.

  • Prepare by educating themselves about the cause of seasonal allergy symptoms
  • Review their seasonal allergy strategy
  • Plan an appointment with a doctor

Look out for triggers that might make allergic reactions worse

-Mild, breezy days: Wind can pick up pollen and disperse it through the air

-Thunderstorms: Pollen grains can be carried by the winds and easily rupture leading to increased allergic reaction during storms

-Proximity to trees: You become more susceptible to certain allergies if trees are in your yard
